Heretic Spellblade 2nd Omnibus is Live

As mentioned a week ago, the second (and final) omnibus for Heretic Spellblade is up on Amazon. It contains Books 4-8, the recently released epilogue, and an interlude that covers Kadria’s origin as a Messenger. The first omnibus is also 99c in the US and UK for a week starting from tomorrow.

If you haven’t read Spellblade, or have tried and bounced off it, this is the best time. It’s a decently big series, clocking in at 1.4m+ words, and is an epic fantasy series I’m proud of. I grew as an author while writing it. While rereading the series to write the epilogue book, I could see my writing evolve as well as old writing tics I’ve outgrown or moved away from. Mob Sorcery wouldn’t be the series it is if I didn’t write Heretic Spellblade. Particularly as I wouldn’t be a full-time author without it.

A big caveat I’ll add is that the first two books are much rougher than anything I write today. If you want to try the series and struggle with them, consider skimming them or even skipping to Book 3 outright (similar to advice given for the Dresden Files). Books 1 and 2 are the shortest in the series. You can read a summary of both books at the start of the 2nd omnibus. Book 3 is a huge step up in quality imo, even if Book 4 is where I finally hit my stride. I don’t recommend skipping right to Book 4, as it relies on setup from Book 3 (and won’t be as impactful) and Book 5 will be too complicated if you skip the entire first half of the series, too.

I hope some of you are able to enjoy the series if you haven’t picked it up before, or enjoy a reread through the omnibus.

I’ll see you again in 2026!
